Op: GMBB- Wk 3 Update

No change. I'm still lazy! I bought a new DVD last week and I did it twice. I'm just not motivated. I want to flat stomach but I don't want to work for it. Plus, I'm torn on how much I need to do. I am at the low end of my target weight, and in order to get a flat stomach I'm going to have to really work on burning fat. I'm afraid if I do that, then I'll become too thin (which is a problem I have). I'm enjoying watching the Olympics, a little too much, which is making me a couch potato these days. I guess I better enjoy these last few weeks of my freedom & be lazy while I can. Well, I say lazy, but I don't sit all day long because the little man keeps me very busy!

The London 2012 Olympics have finally started & I am one happy girl!!! I love the Olympics, especially the summer Olympics. I love to see the competition and to hear the stories behind the athletes. Some of them are so inspiring. So for the next 2 weeks, Brady & I will be cheering on Team USA!!

Well Baby Check-up: 4 months

We took Brady for this Well Baby 4 month check-up last Friday. The doctor says he's healthy & perfect. He weighs 15 lbs 12 oz (64%), is 25 1/4 inches long (59%), and his head measured 16.75 inches around (54%). We're not starting anything new until 6 months when we'll start introducing food. I think I may start trying to feed his morning meal by spoon. We have been putting rice cereal in his bottle since he was about 6 weeks old because he was having trouble keeping his milk down. Feeding cereal is really the only new thing to do at 4 months. So I think it will help him if I start feeding him by a spoon soon so he'll know how to eat when we start baby food.

He's getting so big. It's hard to hold him for very long. I'm very thankful he likes to be put down and play. He also is really starting to enjoy his bouncer. And unfortunately he likes to watch tv. This worries me because there's not too many good programs for kids to watch anymore. I hope as he gets older and can walk and talk, he'll want to go outside and play.

GMBB- Wk 2 update

So week 2 of Project Get My Body Back is complete and it went much like week 1. I would say that this has been another unsuccessful week, but I'm not giving up. I talked with my friend Kasey, who knows a lot about fitness, and she told me about Jilllian Michaels 6 weeks to 6 pack dvd. So, I went and bought it. It was only $10 so I felt that was a pretty get investment if it works. Yesterday was my first day to play the dvd and attempt to do the exercises. I have to say...after the second warm-up I had already paused the dvd and was sitting down to catch my breath. But I managed to get back up & do 20 minutes. Jillian says I need to do the dvd 5 days a week to see positive results. I really don't know if that's possible, but I'm going to give it a try. I'm also going to try to do better with my meal selection. Hopefully next week I can actually say I've done something and I'm starting to see positive results. I only have about 1 more month until school starts and I want to have my stomach back in shape by then because I know after I start back to work, I'm not going to have time or want to work out when I get home.

GMBB Update- wk 1

So the first week of Project Get Me Body Back is complete and I have to be honest...I didn't do as good as I wanted. I only worked out 4 out of the 7 days...my goal was to work out every day. My main problem is that I'm lazy! I hate working my core. I can't see any positive progress at this point. I'm' hoping I'll do better this week.

4 months with Brady

Brady- 4 months
Every day I’m amazed at how much Brady is developing and changing from a tiny baby into a little boy. I love seeing the ways he’s changing and love all his little discoveries. However, on the flip side, it’s sad how fast time is going by. This is my last month at home with him. I’ll be going back to work at the end of August. It’s going to be so hard to leave him and go to work, but it’s the best thing for our family, so for that, I know I’ll be able to do it.

Here’s what Brady has been up to this past month:
*I think he weighs around 15lbs. He goes to the doctor this Friday for his 4 month check-up and shots…so I’ll know for sure his measurements then.
*He eats between 5-6 oz of formula each feeding (sometimes a little less). He gets 1 tbsp of rice cereal per ounce of milk. He eats every 4.5-5 hours.
*Some nights he sleeps through the night, but there are other nights when he wakes once or twice. As of 2 nights ago, he is sleeping in his crib in his room. I’ve had to get up with him about 4-5 times each night, but I’m very hopeful that he will get the hang of it very soon and will start sleeping through the night.
* He fits comfortably in 3 to 6 month clothes. And is even wearing some 6 month clothes.
*He’s wearing a size 2-3 diaper now.
*He loves taking baths, and hates it when you take him out.
*He’s still attached to his pacifier.
*He still loves to be held but is doing much better when we put him down. He is exploring the world around him a lot more and is content being on his back playing.
*He usually wakes up in a very good mood. It’s so funny to hear him talking to himself when he wakes up.
*He still isn’t a fan of tummy time. He’ll roll over so he can see what’s going on.
*He is rolling over! He can do it both ways (tummy to back & back to tummy).
*He is a very curios (or noisy) baby.
*He makes the cutest little noises.
*He is doing a lot better in his infant carrier. He is sitting in the back seat by himself now.
*He can sit in the baby chairs in Sunday School. And he can make it through church now without having blow ups!
*He smiles all the time.
* He is really starting to try to talk more and more. It’s so cute to carry on a conversation with him.
*He still loves blowing bubbles!
*He drools all the time. I’m wondering if he’s about to cut a tooth?? My mom said I cut my first tooth at 4 months…so I guess it’s possible that could happen to him as well.
*His eyes are still blue.
*He’s continuing to get more hair and it’s coming in brown.
*He has discovered his feet. He tries to get his feet in his mouth, but his little fat tummy gets in the way. He will pull his socks off though.
*He tries to stand up when you hold him up.
* He is fascinated by his hands. He will hold them out and just stare at them. He’s also chewing on his hands a lot more these days.
*He has no problem at all with letting you know that he’s unhappy. He can throw some major fits.
*He is very impatient!

JULY?!?!?!?!

I seriously can't believe it's already July! It's already the 7th month of the year! I only have about 6 more weeks at home with my baby!

This year is seriously flying by way too fast & the worst part is that my baby is growing up way too fast! He rolled over yesterday. I went to the park to walk, and he rolled over twice while I was gone. Thankfully, Steven videoed it so I did get to see him do it the second time. He hasn't done it since, but he really hasn't had a chance to either. I'm loving that he's reaching all his little milestones but it also makes me kind-of sad that everything is going as fast as it is. I'm really beginning to think he's going to be a very independent little boy. He doesn't like to be held when it's time to sleep. He wants you to lay him down & leave him alone. I like that...and that's going to be good when he goes to the babysitter, however, I miss snuggling with him as he goes to sleep. I seriously thought he'd be a tiny baby much longer than he was.  :(

Here's a pic of my little bundle of joy!
