Sick Baby

So I went back to work this week, and Brady decides to get sick for the first time. Tuesday I noticed he was hot and not very active (which is VERY unusual for Brady). When I took his temp it was 101.6! That was pretty scary. I gave him Tylenol to try to bring the fever down and that would work, but then it would come back up. By Thursday, I'd had enough of the yo-yo temp so I made Steven call the doc since I was in meetings all morning. We took him in and the doc said he has a virus, but is going to be ok. There's nothing we can do about a virus, but I'm glad to know he's ok and that his ears and lungs are clear. While we were there they weighed him and he is now 17lb 9oz! Now I know why it's so hard for me to carry him in his car seat.

First Day Down

Well, my first day back to work didn't go as well as I'd like....I cried.. A LOT! I was doing okay when I got up this morning. But when I walked out my door with him...I lost it. I cried all the way to Ms. Courtney's. I cried when I dropped him off. Then I cried for about 30 mins at school. It was humiliating. But I couldn't help myself. And whenever someone would come up to talk to me, I'd loose it again on them. I'm sure everyone thought I was crazy. But I seriously couldn't help myself. That was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
On the bright side, we both made it. His temp is starting to come down and I'm still in one piece. I sure hope tomorrow goes a lot better than this morning.

Last Day of Summer

It seems that summer is the fastest season of all. I wait anxiously all year for summer to finally get here, then it's over before I can blink twice. This summer has been much different than any of the rest, all because of my new little man. I didn't get to do the traditional summer things, like go on a trip, swim as much as I'd like, or shop as much as usual, but this was by far my most favorite summer of all. I have loved every second I've had with Brady. It's going to be so hard to leave him tomorrow. And to make matters worse...he's sick. He started running fever around lunchtime (101.6) and just hasn't been himself today. We've decided that if he's still running fever tomorrow, Steven is going to stay at home with him. I get 1 1/2 hr lunch so at least I won't have to be away from him too long.
Keep us in your prayers please. :(

5 Months with Brady

Brady- 5 months
Watching Brady grow, change, and develop over the past 5 months has been unbelievable. I honestly didn’t think so much would happen in 5 short months. It’s actually hard to remember when he was a newborn, it just went too fast! But I have to say, every day he is becoming more and more fun. He is such a funny kid!
Here’s what Brady has been up to this past month:
*I think he weighs around 16lbs.
*He eats between 5-6 oz of formula each feeding (sometimes a little less). He gets 1 tbsp of rice cereal per ounce of milk. He eats every 4.5-5 hours.
*He has started spitting up more so we are giving him Mylanta 3 times a day and the doctor prescribed Zantac to help with his acid reflux. I hope he gets better…the doctor said babies usually start doing better with reflux around 8 months.
*He is doing really well sleeping in his crib. He usually goes to bed between 8-9pm and wakes around 6am. Sometimes he wakes up during the night but that’s becoming less and less.
* He wears 6 month clothes and is starting to wear 6-9 month clothes. He is outgrowing his clothes too fast!
*He’s wearing a size 3 diaper now.
*He loves his bathes.
*He’s still attached to his pacifier. We finally found a website where we could order more so after almost 5 months of stressing over his 1 paci, we finally have 5 new ones.
*He loves to be on the floor playing and rolling around.
*He usually wakes up in a very good mood. It’s so funny to hear him talking to himself when he wakes up.
*He rolls everywhere!
*He is a very curios (or noisy) baby.
*He makes the cutest little noises.
*He loves to watch tv.
*If he’s tired, he will go to sleep in the car; if he’s awake, he usually cries in the car.
*His Sunday School teachers say he’s doing a great job in class.
*He does really well during church services.
*He smiles all the time.
*He laughs all the time too… I love to hear him laugh.
* He is really starting to try to talk more and more. It’s so cute to carry on a conversation with him.
*He still loves blowing bubbles!
*He still drools a lot and chews on anything he can get in his mouth, but he still doesn’t have any teeth yet.
*His eyes are still blue.
*He’s continuing to get more hair and it’s coming in brown (I think), but if you get him in the sun, it has a red tint to it.
*He still loves playing with his feet.
*He tries to stand up when you hold him up.
* I don’t know if this is normal but he holds his hands together and hits them against his mouth. I don’t know if it feels good, because his teeth are hurting him or if he’s just weird??
*He has no problem at all with letting you know that he’s unhappy. He can throw some major fits.
*He is very impatient!
*He fights his sleep sometimes…especially for naps.
*He loves to look at himself in the mirror.
*I can carry him on my hip now.
Here’s Brady this month.
He loved watching the Olympics with mommy.

This outfit is too cute. Wish we could have gone to the beach this year so I could have gotten a pic of him in this outfit on the beach.

It is so hard to get a picture of him because he's always moving and wiggling. His nickname is Wiggle Worm.

Happy 5 Months Brady!!!

Photo Dump

Love my two guys!

Being Brady's mommy is the best job in the world!

It's hard to get a good picture of him because he's always on the move.

Love this shirt. It says, "I'm the New Guy".

Steven grew this 40lb watermelon in his garden.

All these watermelons came from Steven's garden.

Brady is ready to cheer on the Cardinals this year!

Look at those big blue eyes!

Steven's not too sure about Brady's shirt! It says, "Mommy's New Man".

He loves bath time.

I love to see him all wrapped up after his bath. He's just too sweet!
I can't believe in a few days he'll be 5 months old! He's growing and changing so much. I'm so thankful and blessed to have this sweet little boy in my life.

tweet, tweet

I'm moving on up people... I'm now on Twitter! I have been fascinated about Twitter for a while, but didn't know really what it was all about. Well, yesterday, while at a teacher's workshop, they were talking about it so I decided to just bite the bullet and sign up. I've not posted anything or maybe I should say, I haven't tweeted anything. I'm really not sure how to do that yet.So, if any of my friends out there are also on Twitter, look me up at @MichelleLSeals.

August :(

Well, the month has finally arrived. I've been dreading this month for a while. In 21 short days I'll leave my baby boy and head back to work. I can tell the stress is already starting to get to me because I'm already having a hard time sleeping at night. I'm trying to enjoy every single second of my time with him. I know once I go back to work, things will never be the same. But, going back to work is honestly the best way we can provide a good life for Brady...so it will be worth it. I'm just so thankful and blessed I was able to be home with him for the first 5 months of his life. I'm amazed at how fast time flies. I sometimes catch myself thinking 'I wish a certain day or event would hurry up and get here', but I make myself stop because I know I'm wishing my life and Brady's life away when I do that...Since Brady has arrived I've honestly tried to live in the moment everyday... Because of him, I truly realize the importance of enjoying what I have at any particular moment.
