18 months with Brady

We're closer to 19 months than 18..I'm behind as usual. Brady has been busy this month. He's growing like a weed and changing so much. He's so funny and such a joy to be around. It makes my heart happy to watch him just be him. He seriously lights up a room. He's a natural at making people smile. I have people come up to me all the time talking about how funny he is...he got the best personality.
*He's a very healthy boy.
*He weighs 24lbs (45th percentile)
*He's 32 1/4 in. tall (he's finally out of the 10th percentile, he's in the 38th percentile now, YAY!)
*He's talking a lot more.
*I think his favorite word is bye-bye.
*He runs everywhere.
*He can say touchdown & hold his arms up in the touchdown position.
*We're teaching him to say trick or treat...He's getting pretty good at it.
*He smiles and laughs all the time.
*He's a pro at sleeping.
*He's down to 1 nap a day, he usually sleeps for 3 hours, which is very nice.
*He loves to take showers with Steven.
*He always wants to be outside. It's nice that it's starting to cool off.
*He still climbs on everything.
*He's learned to take his clothes off all by himself...it's so funny to find him naked.
*He doesn't like to sit quietly in church. He'd rather be screaming and running around. But he loves Sunday school.
*He can give High 5s
*He is excellent at saying thank you.
*He says moooo.
*He loves Mexican food.
My goal is to try to get him to start feeding himself. I don't like the idea of cleaning up a huge mess all the time, but, life will be much easier when he can feed himself and eat while we eat.

We're having so much fun with him. I can't believe he's already half way through his 2nd year! Time please slow down!

August 2013

So I'm just 2 weeks late, but it's better now than never. August was rough. Out of all the months in the year, it's my least favorite. It was so hot & I had to go back to work. It's been a hard start to a school year. We got a lot of new applications and technology stuff over the summer, it's been tough trying to learn everything on top of getting my room ready, curriculum ready, and getting mentally prepared for a new group of first graders. I'm confident I'll get into a groove soon.
Brady is great. Talking up a storm. Climbing on everything. He's nonstop action from the time he gets up til the time he goes to sleep. He's actually 18 months old today, but I'll post on that later. For today, here's some pics of our August.
I found him in his room, in my rocker, reading his favorite book.

We read "Gus Loses a Tooth" about a million times this summer.

He climbed on the table to help Gavin eat his breakfast.

Waiting for his bite.

Love those big blue eyes.

His happy face.

His silly face.

Using "my" toothbrush to brush his teeth.

He's such a funny kid.

:)

He climbed up our rolling chair to get on top of our desk. So thankful he didn't hurt himself.

Walking on the dinning room table. The boy will climb on anything.

The only time he's still is when he's sleeping...what an angel

He looks so big in this pic.

And a bit of family news, we got a new car!!!! I've always loved 4Runners and now I own one. I love it!!

17 months with Brady

The summer has flown by. Brady & I have had so much fun together. Everyday he seems more boyish than babyish to me (and I've had several people tell me the same thing). He's so funny and it really is a joy to watch him develop and mature.

Brady is busy as always. Here's what he's been up to lately.
* He is officially off the pacifier.
* He's got two teeth that have been trying to come in for about a month....he slobbers so bad.
* He sleeps so good at night and will take 3 hour naps during the day.
* He loves to laugh. I laugh at him laughing. We really do have a lot of fun together.
* He loves to pick his nose.
* He very active. He never stops until he goes to sleep.
* He's getting to where he slaps you in the face, but he gets a spanking for that. I hope he'll get out of that phase soon.
* He runs everywhere...he hardly ever walks. He's pretty fast too.
* He loved the beach when we went on vacation. I really didn't get him out in the pool much at all because I was so worried he'd get burnt, so I was surprised the few times he was around water that he did so well.
* I think he's growing, a little. He'll go back for another check-up in September.
* Since we've taken the pacifier away, he's talking a lot more. He does pretty well when you get him to repeat you.
* He loves to brush his teeth. He even steals other peoples' toothbrushes and uses them!
* He knows his eyes, nose, teeth, belly button, hands, feet and a few other body parts.
* He's starting to stack objects.
* He loves books. We have read Gus Loses a Tooth about a million times over the past few weeks. If someone's not around to read to him, he'll just sit alone and read a book to himself. A few times I've found him in his room, in the glider, looking through a book. I hope he'll always love reading.
* He doesn't meet a stranger.
* He's been healthy this whole month. He had a running nose one week, but I gave him Zyrtec and it cleared him up.
* He's getting to where he can throw balls.
* And speaking of balls, he loves to play with his boy parts!!!
* He loves taking showers with his daddy.
I'm sure I'm missing a few new things that he's up to, but I think I've hit most of the "big" things. Everyday we fall more and more in love with him. I can't see what he does this next month.

July 2013

Another month in the books for 2013. I sure hate that my summer is almost over. August is my least favorite month of the year. It's scorching hot, I have to get ready to go back to work, and finally, the dreadful first day of school. It's an exciting time but oh how I dread it.

July has been fun and full for lots of adventures. Brady had a rough start to July with a burnt hand, pink eye, and an ear infection all in one week. We took him on his first vacation. He loved the beach. He's really started to talk a lot the past few weeks. And finally, the biggest news as of yesterday, Brady is off the paci!!! He's done better than I expected but isn't going down for naps or bedtime well, yet. I hope it won't take too long for him to adjust. I honestly didn't want to take it away but my plan since the beginning of summer was to have him off it before school started back. I only have 2 weeks left, so it was now or never.

Here's some random pics of my growing guy.
Silly boy

His hand is all healed up now. But he still likes to get you to kiss it and he'll say "hot".

He wants to feed himself...but he makes the biggest messes.

His upset face

Independence Day 2013

His NY shirt we brought back from our little trip.

He loves to step on my feet.

And hid between my legs.

Caught him climbing on the table.

Beach bum

Pink eye was no fun

Orange Beach, AL 2013

We took Brady on his first vacation this past week. We drove 11.5 hours to Orange Beach, AL. The drive was long, real long. For the most part Brady did well in the car. However, on the way back home, he cried and screamed the last two hours in the car. Home never looked so good after such a long & rough two hours. While in Alabama we mostly played at the beach. I love the beach, it's so peaceful and relaxing, however, when you take a 16 month old to the beach, it becomes work and not relaxing! Brady loved the sand and water. He was fearless. He would take off running to the water, we'd have to take off after him. The waves were will big while we were there so we were a nervous wreak about him being in the water. My sister & nephew, Kristian & Gavin, went with us. We had so much fun.

Steven chasing Brady. This is pretty much how the whole vacation went. lol

My baby sis, Kristian

Playing with my baby boy.

It was windy = bad hair day. Brady was cutting teeth= cranky kid.

I'm so thankful for my family!

Love these two guys with all my heart!

I love Brady's expression in this pic.
