Steven & I are going to NEW YORK CITY!!!! We’ve been talking for a while about where we wanted to go for vacation (we didn’t get to go anywhere last year because we were getting ready to build our house).
We thought about the Bahamas (that’s where we went for our honeymoon) or somewhere in Mexico or New York or Florida. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to New York…it’s been my dream vacation for as long as I can remember. Steven has never been too keen on going to New York so I really thought I’d either have to go with someone else or never have the chance to go….
Fortunately for me Steven works with a guy who takes his wife to New York quiet often and he really enjoys it.
Two weeks ago, Steven came to school during my conference to tell me he was booking us a trip to New York!!! I was so excited that after school when I went to the park to walk/run…I ran a mile and a half!!!! (I’m training to run a 5K later this year).
I’m so excited about our upcoming trip…I can’t wait to see, hear, smell, taste and touch New York. Steven said to pack my walking shoes because we’re going to try to see as much as we possibly can while we’re there. I can’t wait! We leave in just a little over 3 weeks!

Happy Birthday Kayla!
Today is my middle sister's 27th birthday. We celebrated last night with 2 different cakes and ice cream. It'll take me a week to work off all those calories. :)
Today, Kayla walked into her classroom which looked like a winter wonderland...it was so white from all the toilet paper everywhere.... I wonder who could have done that?????

Sad endings
The Lady Cardinals playoff run was ended last night by the McLeod Lady Longhorns. It was the end of a good season, one which many people probably thought the Lady Cards wouldn’t make it this far into the playoffs after loosing so many good, key players from last years team. It was an embarrassing loss (15-0) but McLeod really was the better team last night. With only a handful of seniors there’s still promise and high expectations for next year’s team. We’ll just have a wait and see….

My sweetie celebrated his 28th birthday today. We ate dinner at McDonald’s then had family over for assorted cheese cake and mini-cupcakes from Wal-Mart. I made the mistake of waiting until the last minute to try to get the cake he wanted…..so now I’m in hot water. As I’m writing this post…we’re sitting here laughing at the fact that we’re such rednecks…. we honestly try not to be, but I guess it’s in our blood.

Lady Cardinals
Last year my cousin Kara led the Maud Lady Cardinals to their first trip to the Class 1A State Tournament in softball (and she was a freshman). This year she has led the Lady Cards back to the playoffs. Their first playoff game was tonight against Douglass. It was a very intense game (with many poor calls from the umpires) but we battled it out and came out victorious! The final score was 9-5. Kara went the distance on the mound for the Lady Cards.
Kara’s little sis Erin cheered
her on from the stands.

Diamond Dolls
I have been assigned the job of Assistant Coach of my niece’s softball team. Makenna is the pitcher and plays 3rd base. She is one of the best players on the team and keeps improving every game….she makes her auntie proud! We played a game tonight and although we lost, the girls did a really good job. Our record is 4-2 for the regular season so we’re doing really well.

#29
Well, I’m officially one year away from my 30’s. I celebrated my 29th birthday yesterday, and I have to say my birthdays keep getting better and better. My day started off by walking into my classroom with a toilet papered desk and zebra worksheets taped everywhere around the room (the culprits being my wonderful middle sister and Mr. B). Paying them back is going to be so much fun!
Steven & I went out to eat at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and after church my whole family came over for cake and some of Lene’s homemade ice cream.
Yum, yum!
I wish every day were my birthday!!!

Our Home
Steven and I built our first home last year. We began the process in August and moved in on December 22, 2008. We worked very well together and only had a few major disagreements… for the most part we did a good job of compromising. We absolutely love our house and we are so happy and thankful to have it. There’s no doubt that God has truly blessed us.
